Minimum Age: 16 years of age

* Non-Expired CPR
* Non-Expired First Aid (or higher level of Emergency Medical Provider)
* Hazardous Materials Awareness Level Professional Certification (IFSAC and/or ProBoard)

Course Description: This program is designed to enhance the student's ability to perform critical skill sets in the field of technical rescue for incidents involving common passenger vehicles. During this course, students will review scene safety and size-up strategies, apply the phases of extrication, vehicle extrication principles and theories, stabilization and extrication techniques, basic patient care and packaging techniques, and manage incident challenges to accurately and safely execute the skill sets required for safe and effective patient extrication. Topics include: size-up, scene management, hazard identification and control, stabilization, gaining access, tool selection and operation, patient packaging and extrication, and termination in accordance with NFPA 1006 and 1670. This course is designed for students with a working knowledge of emergency response. This course is designed to prepare a candidate for professional certification testing (written and skills) in accordance with NFPA 1006 Common Passenger Vehicle Technical Rescuer Awareness, Operations, and Technician Levels.

FSC-2411 - Common Passenger Vehicle Technical Rescuer Awareness, Operations, and Technician Certification Skill Testing (NFPA 1006-2021)

Minimum Age: 16 years of age

Course Description: This program designed to evaluate the student's skills in cognitive and psychomotor exercises so that they will receive professional certification upon completion of the program, if they successfully meet the minimum requirements of testing. This examination measures the student's skills at the Vehicle Technical Rescuer Awareness, Operations, and Technician Level and will follow guidelines set forth in accordance with the policies and procedures of Bucks County Community College's Accreditation. Testing is based on current NFPA 1006 Standard, to the Common Passenger Vehicle Technical Rescuer Awareness, Operations, and Technician Level through the ProBoard. (NOTE: The written examination is a separate FSC number to be completed.)
