Firefighter II Certification Preparation

Minimum Age: 18 years of age

Prerequisites:
• Fire Fighter 1 (NFPA 1001) Professional Certification
• Hazardous Materials Operations (Core, PPE, and Product Control) Level (NFPA NFPA 1072 or 470) 
Professional Certification
• IS-100: Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS-100)
• IS-200: Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response (ICS-200)

Required Text:
• Essentials of Fire Fighting, Seventh Edition, International Fire Service Training Association; Oklahoma.

Required Equipment:
• Approved, fitted, and maintained Turn our Gear
• Approved and tested SCBA with spare cylinder
• Computer with audio/video capability with internet access

Course Description: This course is designed to prepare a fire fighter for the Fire Fighter II certification written and practical examination. 
This is done by providing application assistance, quizzes on each of the topics included in the Fire Fighter 2 job performance requirements and hands-on (or discussion when hands-on is not practical), and review of the Fire Fighter 2 Certification Handbook Skills. If time permits, the last class will be a “mock” Fire Fighter 2 certification test including a selection of some of the certification skills
