Required Equipment:
* Work clothing for weather, Rescue helmet (with chin strap), Eye Protection, Work boots, and Work gloves

Course Description: This program is designed to introduce the student to the hazards and challenges associated with rope rescue incidents. 
The student will develop their situational awareness and acuity needed to accurately assess rope rescue incidents and communicate critical elements to the incoming resources. The students will develop their knowledge and skills to construct and operate rope rescue systems. These systems will incorporate progress capture, twin tension systems, belay systems, haul systems, and lowering systems. Additionally, the student will act as a member of a rescue team capable of supporting rope rescue efforts. During this course, students will review technical rescue strategies and tactics, manage potential hazards and conditions, and navigate through rescue challenges and conditions that would hinder rescue efforts. Topics include: NFPA 1006 Standard for Technical Rescue, knot tying, hazard control, rope rescue system construction and operation, rope rescue equipment selection, use, and application, and safety integration to rescue tactics. This course is designed for the tactical rescuer at the operations level in accordance with NFPA 1006 and 1670/2500. The course is designed to prepare the rescuer for professional certification testing (written and skills) in accordance with NFPA 1006 Rope Technical Rescuer Awareness and Operations Levels.
