Lehigh County provides public education, professional development training, and technical training to public safety volunteers from state government to local communities across the county.

This program is designed to enhance the student’s understanding of the Emergency Management System. This resource covers the duties and responsibilities of the Emergency Management Coordinator, the legal obligations of local government and municipal officials, as they relate to emergency management law, procedures, and operations.

From Caves to Cocklofts

While our bodies have long stepped out of the cave and onto the curbs of our communities, our brains continue to guard us like we just learned to walk on two feet. Our ever-vigilant survival brains keep us safe and effective at our jobs but over the long term our bodies and minds struggle to stay well. We’ll be digging into the psychology of a public safety career. How has the service changed our bodies and minds? What are we doing to ourselves, what do we have to accept, and what can we change?

The Lehigh County Drone Team will be hosting the LEDA PA training day at the JOC from noon-8pm.  Lunch and dinner will be provided, as well as presentations from PSP and some regional experts on interior flying and CUAS.  The later portion of the day will be focused on practical exercises and a full NIST course will be set up and proctored (providing a certificate).  The entire event is free, and covered by LEDA.
