Description: This course will provide a refresher to the student with a basic review of skills needed to identify hazardous materials problems, recognize the presence of hazardous materials, and identify hazardous materials and their associated dangers.

An annual event dedicated to fostering knowledge, collaboration, and preparedness within the field of emergency services. Hosted at the picturesque Desales University campus in Center Valley, Pennsylvania, this conference stands as a premier gathering for professionals, experts, and stakeholders involved in various aspects of emergency response and disaster preparedness.

The Center for Rural Development (CRD) has been awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (DOT PHMSA) and has partnered with the All Hazards Training Center (AHTC) to provide hazardous materials training for volunteers and remote emergency responders.

• Course Title - Medical Services (MS) 1 Training
• Course Duration - 3.5 hours
• Course Description - This 3.5-hour course is designed for pre-hospital emergency medical staff, including EMT-B, EMT-O, AMR, Police, Fire, and other pre-hospital personnel, who may be required to prepare for and manage a radiologically contaminated patient.

Event will kick off with the "Realities of the Emergency Response System" keynote presentation, followed by breakout sessions and Chemical Safety panel discussion. Continental breakfast and bagged lunch is included. Note: presentations may be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.
